
The Adventure Zone (TAZ) Holiday Activities
Dates: July and August (2-3 days per week - view dates available when booking)
Time: 9.30am – 4.15pm
Target Age: 8-13 for land-based activities & 10-13 for water-based activities
Cost: £47 per day
Venue: Henley Fort, Guildford
Henley Fort is located on the Hog's Back high above Guildford and is a Victorian Fort built during the late 19th Century to protect London from invasion by the French. It was later used by the Home Guard in World War 2 as a re-supply depot. It is now an outdoor education facility offering challenging outdoor activities.
New for summer 2020, Henley Fort is offering exciting holiday activities both land-based at the centre and water activities on the nearby Wey Navigation (canal) for children 8-13 years old.
Land based multi activity sessions for Junior Explorers 8 -11yrs and Senior Explorers 11-13 yrs.
Two days per week on a rotating schedule (view dates available when booking)
Activities might include:
- Target archery
- Bushcraft survival skills:
- Fire-lighting
- Cooking over fire
- Den building
- Hanging a hammock
- Animal tracking
- Bug hotel building
- Scavenger hunt
- Nature hike
- Eco arts and crafts – mud faces, natural art
- Orienteering including map and compass skills and navigation around site
- Team challenges and games
Water based activities for Explorers aged 10-13 yrs take place on the Wey Navigation (canal) River Wey, Guildford
3 days per week on a rotating schedule (view dates available when booking)
